Brain Meets Brawn does not follow the traditional path when it comes to learning to balance. We use unique tools, exercises, and environments to challenge every sense of your body! Balance and fall prevention training is available for both sports medicine and personal training services. Below you will find a few of our favorite balancing tools at the studio.
The GiBoard delivers the ideal combination of challenging training, safety and fun. The slackline delivers instant feedback on your imbalances and the right amount of challenge to improve your balance and coordination. The line is only a few inches off the ground and creates no momentum, so using it is really safe. When you lose your balance, you just put your other foot down. Finally, the GiBoard is just plain fun with endless opportunities to improve your skills and master different poses and tricks. The Slant Board is commonly known for stretching the calves. But at Brain Meets Brawn we've found an even better use for it! The Slant Board can also be used to improve your foot, ankle, and calf strength as well as challenge your balance in a lengthened calf muscle position. This forces the calf muscles to contract through a larger range of motion during calf raising exercises. This is ideal for strengthening the calf muscles and improving their ability to balance in a weak, lengthened position.

The BOSU Pro Balance Trainer is known industry-wide for balance, strength and flexibility training, as well as delivering a killer cardio workout that’s fun. The BOSU Pro Balance Trainer challenges the entire body with integrated, multi-joint movements requiring muscle groups to simultaneously work together. There are 2 different sides, one flat and one rounded, to challenge the body's sense of balance. The BOSU is the perfect tool for targeting the ankle joint and associated muscles.

Located at 3029 Hilton Road in Fabulous Ferndale, Brain Meets Brawn was established in 2013 and opened the doors to a fully equipped studio and clinic in August of 2019. Upon walking through our doors, you'll find open space and a creative assortment of equipment that will allow for any fitness activity or genre you can imagine.
